SGRY Sangha Membership
SGRY Sangha Membership Program Overview
The sangha membership program has been established as a way for committed
students of Shambhava Yoga and Meditation to participate in and help to
financially support ashram programs. These programs in turn, help support the
practitioners’ meditation practice. Ashram programs include Monday night
chanting and meditation, live broadcasts of satsang, online chats, member blogs
and website archives.
We are always delighted to welcome new members who are dedicated to the
practices and teachings of Shambhava Yoga. While we try to keep the process of
joining simple, we do have some basic requirements. One is that you make a
regular monthly dues payment in order to access the online broadcasts and
sangha website. In addition, we ask that our members meet some basic
guidelines with regard to their meditation practice and experience. Please look
these over and if you answer yes to them, then reply to this email that you’d like
to take the next steps to becoming an SGRY member.
If you don’t meet these guidelines but remain interested in membership, please
let us know more about yourself and we’ll connect you with a teacher or mentor
who can help you start a practice.
Guidelines for Membership
- I’ve actively been involved at one of the SGRY ashrams or Shambhava Centers within the last few years, for example, attending programs and intensives, taking classes when available and performing seva on a regular basis
- I’ve been practicing meditation on a regular basis, as I learned it at one of the ashrams or Centers for at least 6 months.
- I have either met or been exposed to the teachings of Sri Shambhavananda, I understand the role of a Guru in spiritual growth, and I feel that I would like to make a deeper connection to him and to my own growth.
