Hello,
I’m interested in your Sunday family yoga. What is the price for the class? Do the kids stay with us the whole time?
Thanks,
Katie

Hi Katie,
The class is free. One parent usually stays with toddlers and preschoolers, while the other may choose to go to satsang (questions and answers regarding our spiritual practice) with a senior teacher. Older children, once they are accustomed to the program are usually able to stay without either parent. If you have other questions, feel free to call me at 303-249-1671.

I am interested in the Sunday program but it would be just me and my daughter there. Do we do yoga? She is only 19 months so I prefer us to be together the whole time. Can you tell me more about what we do at it?

Hi Carrie,
At the Sunday program we have kirtan (sacred chants set to music) where the children get to perform arati, which means “waving of lights.” Items such as cloth, a peacock fan, and a fly whisk are waved before the statues of deities we have in our dome. It is an expression of gratitude and appreciation for the divinity within each of us. A child the age of yours is usually helped by a parent. The kirtan and arati last for 30 minutes.
Afterwards the children have a simple snack and then there are a variety of activities available. Children of 18 months or so on up do get a chance to join in the yoga as best they can and there are arts and crafts and games that the children get involved in at their level. Also we have alpacas and chickens they like to visit. Some children are ready as soon as they can walk, others aren’t. You are welcome to bring your daughter and see how she likes it. If she is fussy you can just take her from the room until she can quiet down and then try again. Usually one parent stays with the younger children ( 1-3ish). Feel free to call me at 303-249-1671 if you have more questions. Or just come and join us, no reservations needed, no charge. People who come regularly bring a snack now and again.
Namaste,
Mukti
